As a Senior Commissioning Project Engineer for Bala’s Philadelphia office, Brian is responsible for providing commissioning services for a wide range of project types. He has significant experience in the commissioning process, from early design stage involvement to project turnover to ensure ongoing client success. Brian believes the foundation to successful commissioning lies in communication, coordination, and technical expertise. Notable projects include the Triad1828 Centre in Camden, NJ, the Hazelwood Green Mill 19 buildings in Pittsburgh, PA , and the Comcast Technology Center – Philadelphia’s signature 60-story high-rise.
Brian is also a member of Bala’s Sustainability Committee where he has been involved with various research efforts focusing on green building certifications and building tune-ups. He also presents AIA Accredited Commissioning Courses to architects.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
One recent interest I've taken on is smoking meat including pulled pork, ribs, poultry, fish, and the ever-demanding beef brisket. Temperature regulation and patience is the key!
Name an item on your bucket list.
As a regular backpacker, I hope to one day visit Torres Del Paine National Park in Southern Patagonia. The landscape is stunning in photos.
