With a rich history of ice hockey dating back to 1898, Harvard University has used the Alexander H. Bright Hockey Center as their home ice since 1979.  Recently renamed the Bright-Landry Hockey Center, Bala was called upon to provide additions and renovations/upgrades to the facility which debuted for the 2014-2015 season.

The project added a 20,000 SF addition to the existing ice hockey facility and renovated 13,000 SF of existing space.  The revamped building now contains upgraded spectator amenities, new concessions, hospitality areas and restrooms, new lockers rooms for both the men’s and women’s teams, sports medicine facilities, coach’s offices and an operations center.

The HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design connects the Bright-Landry Hockey Center to the Gordon Track Building.  100% outdoor air heat recovery wheels were utilized for the locker room areas and dedicated equipment for the offices and concourse areas.

The fire protection design includes the entire 50,000 SF Bright-Landry Arena and the adjoining 68,000 SF Gordon Track building.
