Toll Brothers, the nation’s leading builder of luxury homes, moved its headquarters from Horsham to Fort Washington. The new space relocated nearly 900 employees and includes space for growth.
The new office space includes private offices, a bistro, small cafes, conference rooms, training facilities, a 25,000 SF mezzanine and diverse collaboration and lounge spaces. Toll Brothers was intent on incorporating indoor air quality guidelines outlined in the Harvard Study, “The Impact of Green Buildings on Cognitive Function”. These guidelines had a major impact on the design of the HVAC systems and their supporting spaces.
Other features that Bala incorporated into their designs to fit with Toll Brother’s standards were daylight harvesting systems to adjust lighting to save energy based on daylight availability, automated air circulation with outdoor air replacing indoor air at up to 6 times the code requirement and a green wall installed in the common area to create a natural air filter.
